Gastonia has a high crime rate. This is especially true in the West District. If somebody told you any different they were lying or they were a politician trying to get elected. The Gastonia Police Department has developed several great tools for tracking crime in your neighborhood and we encourage you to use them. Because of these new tools, we no longer track crimes or statistics. Please let us know if there is specific information that you are not able to locate and we will try to assist. CURRENT POLICE DEPARTMENT GRADE - A
The police department grade is based on feedback we receive from residents in the community. The grade is only for the West District officers and is based solely on observations. The grade will fluctuate weekly based on the feedback we receive and it is not based on one incident or event. Resident input is welcomed and encouraged. |
